VNEEC organises two consecutive training courses on ETS and the carbon market in Hanoi, each lasting 2 days, from 26 February to 01 March 2024. The initial course, occurring on 26th<\/sup>\u00a0\u2013 27th<\/sup>\u00a0February 2024, targets representatives from ministries, responsible agencies, and individuals involved in the establishment and management of carbon exchange platforms and markets in Vietnam. The second training course is tailored for representatives from energy-intensive enterprises, business associations, and media, occurring on 29th<\/sup>\u00a0February and 01st<\/sup>\u00a0March 2024.<\/p>\n

The 2-day training course on ETS and the carbon market is part of the Southeast Asia Energy Transition Partnership\u2019s (ETP) support aiming to develop the carbon market in Viet Nam in cooperation with the Department of Climate Change (DCC), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) under the technical assistance (TA) \u201cEmission Trading System (ETS) Piloting and Simulation in Vietnam\u201d.<\/p>\n

The main objective of the technical assistance is to develop and organize training courses on ETS and the carbon market, using the ETS simulation tool tailored to the Vietnam context for various stakeholders including policymakers, research institutes, universities, financial institutions, media representatives, and especially big emitters that will be covered under Vietnam\u2019s ETS in the future.<\/p>\n

The 2-day training course for big emitters<\/strong> regarding the establishment and operation of the ETS and carbon market in Vietnam will take place in Hanoi with details as follows:<\/p>\n

Date: <\/strong>2 days, 29th<\/sup> February and 01st<\/sup>\u00a0March 2024<\/p>\n

Venue:<\/strong>\u00a0 Melia Hanoi Hotel, 44 Ly Thuong Kiet Str, Tran Hung Dao, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi<\/p>\n

Accommodation:\u00a0<\/strong>Trainees are responsible for their own transportation and accommodation during the training course. Organizers provide buffet lunch at the hotel where the training course is held. For trainees who do not live in Hanoi, the organizers will support part of the travel and accommodation costs when attending.<\/p>\n

Benefits:\u00a0<\/strong>Be equipped with knowledge, contribute comments to build a carbon market in Vietnam, and receive a certificate of participation in training courses issued by the Department of Climate Change and ETP.<\/p>\n

Required preparation:\u00a0<\/strong>Laptop, or tablet (for reading documents and participating in simulations).<\/p>\n
